Abstracts submissions open on November 29, 2024 and close on January 15, 2025 at 17:00 EST (U.S.). Abstract notifications will be sent out to presenting authors in early April 2025. For more information, please see this page.

You can download the ISTH Congress app using this link. Once you download the app, click on "See Details" under the 2025 Congress. Then press "Load" and then "Start" in the bottom right corner.

To see your bookmarked sessions, please click "My Congress" and log in with your email and badge number (which can be found under the barcode on your registration confirmation). From there, click "My Sessions" to see your bookmarked sessions.

ATMs

ATMs are located throughout the convention center.

 

Banks & Foreign Exchange Offices
Credit cards can be used for most purchases, please keep in mind that some places may only accept cash, so plan on bringing that with you as well. Bank hours vary but most are open between 09:00-17:00, Monday through Friday, except on holidays.

 

Business Center
The Capital Business Center is located in the convention center on Level 1. It offers copying, faxing, and some shipping services. You can also rent a computer there. There is also a FedEx Office Print & Ship Center at the the WEWCC.

 

Certificate of Attendance
Certificates of attendance will be sent out via email after the Congress.

 

Climate
The average temperature in Washington, D.C. in June is a high of 85° Fahrenheit and a low of 63° Fahrenheit.

 

Coat/Luggage Check

Coat/Luggage Check will be available on Wednesday, June 25 in East Salon.

Insurance and Liability

​It is recommended that participants obtain adequate insurance coverage for travel, health and accidents before they depart from their countries of residence. The ISTH as organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to private property belonging to the conference participants and accompanying persons.

Italian Pharmaceutical Companies and Delegates

Language
The official language of the meeting is English. There is no simultaneous translation service provided.

 

Lost and Found
If you have lost a personal item, please check the  registration desk the information desk.
 

Lunch

A light lunch will be served in the exhibition hall Sunday-Tuesday.

Mobile Telephones
As a courtesy to speakers and other participants, all mobile phones and pagers must be switched off when attending sessions or symposia.

Networking Event

Please note that the Networking Evening requires pre-registration and an additional fee. Tickets cannot be purchased at the Networking Evening.

The ISTH 2025 Congress Networking Evening will take place Tuesday June 24, 2025. The location will be announced as we get closer to the Event.

Registration
Attendance at the official ISTH 2025 Networking Evening requires registration for the ISTH 2025 Congress. Register for the Congress and networking evening here. 

If you are already registered for the congress, you can add the purchase of the networking evening through your registration.  There is a separate fee of $75 USD charged per participant and the networking evening is only open to registered participants of the congress.  Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate accompanying guests. Industry partners, on-demand only and day ticket registrants are also not able to purchase Networking Evening tickets.

Nursing Mothers

There are Nursing Mother's Pods are available outside Room 103 and 148. A code is required to access the pods, please go to the registration desk to receive the code. If you need a refrigerator to store milk, you can also go to the registration desk and staff will assist you.

Online Disclosures
As part of the CME accreditation procedures, all speakers are obligated to provide disclosure of potential conflicts of interest. On the first slide of every presentation, these disclosures must be presented. The Speaker Ready Room can assist with drafting this slide.

Photo/Recording Policy
Any form of duplication (recording, audio taping, photography and/or video) of sessions is prohibited without expressed written consent of the author and congress organizer. Please do not use your mobile device to duplicate or record any sessions.
 
We kindly ask that attendees DO NOT photograph, record, film, or use a cellphone to capture images of presentations at any time during the meeting, as well as on the poster and exhibit floors.
 
Please note that you may be photographed, videotaped and/or recorded during your visit by the official ISTH 2025 photography/video team. By entering the ISTH 2025 Congress, you agree to each of the following:

1. You consent to be photographed, filmed and/or otherwise recorded in connection with, or as part of ISTH 2025 journalistic, advertising, marketing, promotional, archival and/or security activities

2. You consent to such photography, filming and/or recording and to any use, in any and all media throughout the world in perpetuity, without compensation to you, of your appearance, voice and/or name for the above noted purposes

3. You understand that all photography, filming and/or recording will be done in reliance on these consents given by you by entering the congress

4. To protect, among other things, the personal information of our attendees, you agree not to reproduce, perform, display or upload any photographs of sessions/presentations.

 
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed via the official congress photography and video team, kindly inform representatives of your preference.

Poster Pick Up

If you printed your poster through Poster Session Online, you can pick it up outside of the Exhibit Hall in Concourse E (the hallway that leads to the Corporate Suites) during the following times:

• Saturday- 12:00 – 17:00

• Sunday- 9:00 – 17:00 (closed for lunch from 11:30-12:30)

• Monday 9:00 – 17:00 (closed for lunch from 11:30-12:30)

• Tuesday (9:00 – 13:45)

Please note that this is a non-smoking meeting. Smoking is not permitted inside or outside the meeting halls nor in the exhibition area.

Tipping

Tipping is customary in the US. At restaurants it is common to tip between 15-20%. It is common to tip 10-20% for cabs etc..

Transportation

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center (WEWCC) can be accessed by multiple modes of transportation. This information is from the Events DC website, for more information you can visit their page here.

• By Plane:

  • To get to Washington, D.C. you can fly into three major airports. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is located about 5 miles away from the WEWCC. Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is located about 27 miles from WEWCC. BWI Marshall Airport (BWI) is about 32 miles from WEWCC.

• By Train:

  • You can travel to Washington D.C. via Amtrak, arriving at Union Station (50 Massachusetts Avenue NE, Washington, DC). Union Station is about 1 mile from WEWCC.

You can access the WEWCC in different ways:

• By Metro

  • The nearest metro station to the WEWCC is the Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street- Convention Center station which is on the Green or Yellow Metro line. It is across the street from the WEWCC.

  • Please visit WMATA.com or call (202) 637-7000 for more information about the Metro

• By Car

  • There are multiple parking garages located in the area. The WEWCC is also can be accessed through rideshare apps. Events DC has a partnership with Lyft which has a dedicated pick off/drop off spot on the corner of Mount Vernon and 9th Street.

• By Foot

  • Many of the hotels within the ISTH block are walkable to the WEWCC.​
