Certificates of Attendance
Certificates of attendance will be sent out via email after the Congress.
Climate
The average temperature in Paris in July is between 15°C- 26°C (59°F- 79°F).
Code of Conduct
Please see the code of conduct here. All attendees must agree to the Code of Conduct during the registration process.
Currency
The official currency of France is the Euro (€).
Electricity
In France, both Type C and Type E plugs can be used.
Insurance & Liability
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate insurance coverage for travel, health, and accidents before they depart from their countries of residence. The ISTH as organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries or loss of, or damage to private property belonging to conference participants and accompanying persons.
Language
The official language of the meeting is English. There will not be any simultaneous translation service provided.
Phone
As a courtesy to speakers and other participants, all mobile phones and pagers must be switched off when attending Congress or industry sessions.
Nursing Mother’s Room
A nursing mother’s room will be available on site. More information to come.
Prayer Room
A prayer room will be available on site. More information to come.
Smoking
Please note that this is a non-smoking meeting. Smoking is not permitted inside or outside the meeting halls nor in the exhibition area.

Taxes
Standard value-added tax (VAT) in France is 20%. Some goods and services, such as meals at restaurants, have a lower VAT of 10%. Certain essential goods have a VAT rate of 5.5%.
Time Zone
France is in the Central European Standard time zone (GMT+1).
Tipping
Tipping is not required in France but a small tip for great service is appropriate.
