Types of Sessions at ISTH 2026:

Plenary Sessions (PL): Plenary Session speakers are invited to give a presentation that highlights an important topic in the field.

State of the Art Sessions (SOA): Each of these educational sessions has invited speakers who present on various topics using interactive formats.

Oral Communication Sessions (OC): OC Sessions have five abstract authors present their abstracts. Each speaker is allocated 12 minutes to present and 3 minutes for Q&A. These are moderated for time.

Poster Sessions (PB): Posters will be hung on large boards and authors will stand with their posters during the official poster session to answer questions.

Early Career Session (EC): This event requires separate pre-registration, and a registration fee. The event lasts 150 minutes and provides a variety of high-quality educational, career-development, and networking opportunities with notable speakers that will cover important topics for early career individuals.

SSC Sessions (SSC): The Scientific and Standardization Committee (SSC) has over 20 sessions that are incorporated into the Congress. These sessions are devoted to the discussion of diagnostic standards, disease nomenclature and classification, and the latest research on bleeding and thrombotic disorders.

Supported Symposia (SS): Supported Symposia are scientific or educational in nature, offering a platform for in-depth presentations and discussions from ISTH industry partners.

Presentation Theaters (PT): Presentation Theaters are designed to provide industry partners with an opportunity to showcase new research findings, share product information, offer live demonstrations, or raise disease awareness among ISTH Congress delegates.

Guidance & Guideline Session (GG): This session is designed for clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals to provide a highlight of ISTH’s latest guidelines and guidance articles in order to improve patient care.
