ISTH 2026 New Frontier Forums
​

New Frontier Forums are dynamic, small-stage experiences, hosted inside the ISTH Hub in the Exhibition Hall. These Forums feature 15–20 minute lectures highlighting emerging therapies in gene therapy and FXI/XIa inhibition. Each session will include dedicated time for audience Q&A, encouraging interaction and deeper discussion. The Forum will be complemented by online microlearning modules available through the ISTH Academy, allowing participants to continue exploring key topics beyond the live sessions.

Gene Therapy Sessions (supported by Roche)​

  How the Past Informs Our Future With Hemophilia Gene Therapy
  Presented by Alok Srivastava
  This presentation will review the history and evolution of hemophilia gene therapy, highlighting major scientific and clinical milestones as well as the key lessons learned from AAV-based approaches related to efficacy, durability, safety, and long-term clinical implementation.

  Novel Advances in Gene Therapy for Hemophilia
  Presented by Steven Pipe
  This presentation will explore the future of hemophilia gene therapy, focusing on next-generation platforms and emerging strategies in development, including novel vector engineering, gene editing, cell-based therapies, and ongoing clinical trials aimed at improving durability, safety, and patient eligibility.

  Learning More: FXI/XIa Inhibitor Trials
  Presented by Jeffrey Weitz
  This session provides a focused overview of FXI/XIa inhibitors as emerging anticoagulant therapies. Attendees will explore how these agents may address unmet needs in patients requiring safer anticoagulation, review the key categories and mechanisms of FXI/XIa inhibitors, and compare leading compounds currently in clinical trials. Recent findings will be discussed to highlight their potential impact on future clinical practice.
