Bastille Day in Paris

Bastille Day is an annual French national holiday, celebrated on July 14 each year. It commemorates the Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, a major event of the French Revolution. The event features fireworks and a military parade.

This year, the fireworks and drone show will take place on Monday evening, July 13, while the military parade will take place the following morning on July 14.

The events are free to attend, and ISTH 2026 Congress can expect metro disruptions on both July 13 and 14.

The fireworks and drone show are set off from the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro Gardens beginning at 11 p.m. on July 13, less than 4 km from the ISTH 2026 Congress venue, Expo Porte de Versailles. Learn more about the fireworks and drone show here, including metro closures.

The military parade will begin at 9:55 a.m. on the Champs-Élysées, between Place Charles-de-Gaulle (Arc de Triomphe) and Place de la Concorde. All the military sequences (land and air) take place until mid-morning, around 12 p.m. Learn more about the military parade here.
